Vincent is Director Product Line Management with ADVA/Adtran starting September 2023. In this role, he is developing for the next exciting thing in fiber optics, the coherent OTDR. This technology will turn optical fibers into sensors, and as such, with fibers being widely deployed, enabling many applications. In 2010 Vincent Sleiffer started his journey into optical fiber technology and transmission.
After finishing his PhD (cum laude) at the TU/e (Eindhoven, the Netherlands) in long-haul optical communication and trying to increase the capacity per fiber using new technologies, he joined ADVA/Adtran in 2016. He is responsible for some major deployed networks in the BeNeLUX and Nordics & Baltics, and regularly gives technical updates and presentations about actual topics in the optical industry. His fields of expertise are optical fibers (a.o. hollow-core fiber), pluggables, high-speed communication and (layer 1) encryption.
