Netnod One Port FAQs

1. What is Netnod One Port?

Netnod One Port is a new framework for providing services to customers at the Netnod
Internet Exchange (IX). We have separated port access from the services delivered over
an IX port. This enables a framework for customers to run multiple services over the
same port.

2. Why is Netnod making this change?

This new framework enables customers to use one port to run multiple Netnod services
while preserving redundant ports for those that need it. Netnod One Port makes it easier
for you to order, aggregate and administer your Netnod services. It also makes each
added service more cost-effective optimising the value you get from your Netnod port.

3. Which services are available over Netnod One Port?

As of October 2024, the following services are available over Netnod One Port:

4. Does this affect my existing services?

No. Your existing services will remain the same. Netnod One Port will be available when
you order a new service, or change your existing one. This includes ordering an upgrade
or an additional service such as Netnod Time Direct.

5. Will this increase my monthly fee?

No, you will pay the same monthly fee for the service you receive from Netnod as before.

6. When will this change take effect?

Netnod One Port is available from 14 October 2024. New customers and existing
customers adding upgrades/new services will receive service under the Netnod One Port
framework.

7. Will this affect the services I receive from Netnod?

No, you will receive the same services as before. But Netnod One Port makes it easier
for you to order, aggregate and administer your Netnod services. It also makes each
added service more cost-effective and optimises the value you get from your Netnod
port.

8. Will my invoice change?

The total amount will not change but the invoice will be presented in a slightly different
way. It will show the cost for port access and the separate costs for services delivered
over that port.

9. How will Netnod One Port work for customers who want redundant ports at the IX?

You will be able to run redundant ports exactly as before. If you order a redundant
connection, you will need two cross connects. In that case, you will be guaranteed
diverse paths to ensure redundancy. Each port will be provided under the Netnod One
Port framework. You can choose which services to add to which port. Read more about
redundant ports here.

10. Does this replace the Shaped Port product?

Yes. Customers previously using Shaped Port will continue to receive the same service
under the Netnod One Port framework.

11. I only want to buy 1Gbps Peering. Do I really need to buy 10G port access?

This is the minimum port size we offer. The total price for 10G port access and 1Gbps of
peering will not be higher than before.
