Hans Wallberg has passed away
It is with great sadness that we learnt of the decease of Hans Wallberg last Friday. Hans was a co-founder of Netnod and a leading force in its creation, as well as being instrumental in the creation of the Swedish University Network (SUNET), and the adoption of the Internet in Sweden.
Hans led the transition of the D-GIX, originally operated at The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), to Netnod, effectively establishing the new company. Hans remained the chairman of both Netnod and the TU Foundation (the owner of Netnod), until his demise.
Through his work and friendship he was a well-known and respected figure throughout the Internet community in Sweden, Europe and the wider global internet community. He will be deeply missed by all of us here at Netnod.
