Netnod and SUNET deliver report to PTS on crisis-proof information distribution system
During 2018, Netnod and SUNET have been working on a proof of concept for Project Särimner, a nationwide project focused on ensuring that information distribution in Sweden continues to operate effectively in crisis situations.
The project investigated how to deliver a more efficient, crisis-proof information distribution in Sweden. It concluded that this can be done but that this required a greater number of high-quality meeting places where diverse physical infrastructure (specifically fibre) meet.
Project Särimner will continue in 2019 with an operational phase to gather operational experience. Netnod and SUNET have delivered their report on the proof of concept to the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) which summarises the Project Särimner findings so far.
