Input to WG on IGF improvements
The Internet technical and academic community is pleased to submit the following document as a response to the second questionnaire circulated by the Chair of the CSTD working group on improvements to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
Technical and academic community 2nd submission to CSTD WG on IGF improvements
The CSTD Working Group, of which Netnod Outreach and Communications manager Ms Nurani Nimpuno is a member, met for the first time on 25-26 February 2011, in Montreux, Switzerland. In preparation of this meeting, the Chair Mr Frédéric Riehl had circulated a questionnaire as basis for the initial discussions. The Internet technical and academic community submitted their response to the questionnaire, as did some of the other members of the working group. However, at the working group meeting, discussions arose surrounding what questions should be asked, which resulted in a second questionnaire published 4 March 2011.
The working group will meet again 24-26 March 2011, with the aim to agree on a report to be submitted to the CSTD.
The WG is composed of twenty-two Members States, plus five representatives each from civil society; the business sector; academia and the technical community; and intergovernmental organisations. Netnod Outreach and Communications manager, Ms Nurani Nimpuno, is one of the five representatives of the technical and academic community.
