Netnod Tech Meeting 2024 - A summary
We are very proud that our Netnod meetings have grown to become events that bring together the local technical community enabling them to learn from each other and experts from around the world. This is something we value very much and that we are proud to support.
It is important for us that Netnod meetings (both big and small) provide a forum where the technical community can meet, listen to interesting presentations, discuss recent developments, share experiences and network.
Some of the highlights from the Netnod Tech Meeting 2024 included:
- Patrik Fältström, Netnod’s CSO, presenting Netnod's new security service, Robustness for Digitalized Organizations. The background is an increased number of inquiries about Netnod's methods and routines for securing our critical operations. In response, Netnod is now offering a partnership for digitalized organizations that want to work effectively over the long-term to identify and secure what is critical for their core services.

-Jim Zou, Senior Manager of Global Business Development at Adtran, who discussed the challenges and opportunities with regards to securing optical networks with quantum secure methods. He explored the differences between Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and predicted a way forward.

Other notable talks included those from Gemma Vall Llosera, a Principal Quantum Engineer at Ericsson, who focused on quantum technology applications in telecoms, and Jonas Lejon (Senior Cybersecurity Specialist) and Erik Hjelmvik (CTO), who provided insights into the latest cyber defense strategies.
Attendees ranged from network engineers and cybersecurity specialists to tech enthusiasts and cloud infrastructure experts, fostering a rich exchange of ideas and experiences. The meeting also featured a strong focus on network observability, with companies like Kentik highlighting the importance of visibility into multi-cloud environments and the ability to monitor and optimize complex network infrastructures.
For those who were unable to attend in person, we have made all the presentations available on our YouTube playlist, offering an opportunity to revisit the presentations. The videos provide insights into the topics that are shaping the future of the internet, including the challenges and innovations in network architecture, quantum security, and the evolving landscape of cloud technologies.
From my perspective the meeting was a success: a mix of high-level technical presentations, networking and great food. We are extremely grateful to all the sponsors, presenters and attendees who made this event such a success!
